When creating Security Roles or tweaking existing ones, naturally you should explore the actual workings of the security role by viewing the role in action.

Instead of having to ask a willing user to log in via their networked device so that you can test the security role, or having to apply the security role to your own user account, ‘Run as different user’ on Internet Explorer and log in with a test user’s known credentials and the CRM will respond as if the networked device is the logged in users, showing you their applied Security Roles.

Testing Security Roles On Premise

This option on Internet Explorer can be accessed by doing a right-click whilst pressing the Shift key on your keyboard. Once you have selected ‘Run as different user’ the familiar Windows login screen seen in other places of the Operating System will appear prompting you to type in credentials.
